It has been a while since I have visited Throckmorton, Albany, Breckenridge and Buffalo Gap but I can confidently recommend a visit to Albany and the old restored Ledbetter Cabin with it's artifacts, the jail's contemporary art museum and the quaint little shops and restaurants on the square. Fort Griffin, its museum and restored buildings are magnificent but many, including Texas author A.C. Greene, rank the old ruins at Fort Phantom Hill as their favorite fort stop.

I hope you will check back later when I've had a chance to revisit the area and update my recommended routes and stops.
