Old Fort Graham

U. S. military post established in 1849. As line of settlement moved westward, the need for the fort was less and troops withdrawn in 1853. Original location in Lake Whitney bed. When lake was built, much of the ruins and rock transported to new site and used in the reconstruction. One-room rock building houses mementos of early days of Whitney and other artifacts. Open Memorial Day - Labor Day, Sat. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sun. 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
