Hillcrest Zoo

From the thrill of the Hillcrest Zoo, to the fun you’ll find on one of our challenging golf courses, there are so many exciting activities waiting for you here in Clovis. Looking for excitement? There are plenty of animal antics to enchant the entire family at Hillcrest Park & Zoo. A popular attraction is the playful otter, splashing and swimming. Taking center stage is Sabre, a white Bengal Tiger that weighs over 400 pounds. Enjoy feeding waterfowl and watch rare and endangered animals as you wander along winding, tree-shaded paths.

Wild creatures move freely or in modest enclosures, complete with trees, streams, pools, and other natural features. Our 22.5-acre zoo is the second largest in New Mexico, and the animals are second to none. The zoo is a great place for the entire family. The Hillcrest Park & Zoo with more than 140 acres of park land, has lots of playground equipment for children to enjoy, a basketball court, a sunken garden, and plenty of picnic areas. Stay for the day! Located next to the zoo, Luck-E-Dawg Kiddy Land offers small rides for children 2-8 years old. Children can enjoy a train ride near the zoo. Hillcrest Park & Zoo is located at 10th and Sycamore streets.

Casel-Land Fun Center

Located at the intersection of U. S. Hwy. 60/84 and NM 467, this facility offers miniature golf, batting cages and go-kart rides for one or two people.

Roller World

This rink offers plenty of excitement with laser tag and roller-skating fun. Private lessons and birthday parties are also available at Roller World.

Clovis Depot Model Train Museum

This historic site features railroad memorabilia and historical displays of the development of the railroad in Australia, Great Britain, and the American Southwest. The museum also enables close-up viewing of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway along one of the busiest rail lines in the United States.

Lyceum Theatre

The historic Lyceum Theatre located in downtown Clovis at 411 Main, built in 1919-1920 and closed in 1974, is alive again. Some of the best live and filmed entertainment the world has ever seen, including Tom Mix and Shirley Temple, took place right here in Clovis. The restored vaudeville theatre is open for live performances and tours.

State Music Theatre

Located downtown, this theatre has been converted for live music and entertainment and contains a wooden dance floor and seating for 500. The Bill Case Combo performs every 2nd Saturday of the month.

Norman Petty Studio

The "Clovis Sound," made popular by such greats as Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison, was created and recorded in Clovis at the Norman Petty 7th Street Studio. The original equipment is still in the studio, and a visit will take you back to the grand days of rock ‘n’ roll. Relive the Norman Petty legacy with a tour of the studio- meet the Roses and Tollettes (back-up singers for Buddy Holly). Hear original music recordings, view video clips that will take you back to the 50’s when it all happened. The studio is located at 1313 West 7th Street.

Old Homestead Museum and Pappy Thornton Farm Museum

These two museums are located at Ned Houk Park on Hwy. 209. They offer a glimpse of the past with old farm equipment and other antiques.

While you’re in Clovis, don’t forget to enjoy stock car racing, bowling, movies and many antique shops.
